ProsDurable, Great Value, Comfortable, Performing as Expected
I'm from Austin, TX and Boston winters were and still are quite a shock! I was looking for something that keep me really warm, including my bum, but still allow me to walk comfortably. This down filling amount, light weight coat with a longer length is perfect! Plus, after three years, a seam started to unravel, and LLBean exchanged my old one for a new one without any hassle! And my new one arrived in 2 business days! Such service!
Note: I find the sizes a big large...I'm not quite an XS but my coat is!

I really like this coat a lot! I would have given it 5 stars except for 2 things: I am 5'9" tall and the sleeves just fit barely and personally speaking I did not find it warm enough below 35 - however I get cold so easily so you may find this jacket to be warmer for you. It is a really cute looking jacket, simple but far from plain and it is very comfortable. I have asthma, sinus issues and a lot of allergies and I was amazed that the down in the coat was not an issue for me. I really like the 2 way zipper a lot. I bought this in the black color , in a size large and I can wear a sweat jacket under it. I am really happy with this jacket. Yes, I would recommend this to a friend. ** PLEASE LL Bean Make TALL SIZES. (At 5'9 I need longer sleeves & I wear a 34" inseam for pants and I love so many items you make! I am continually pleased with the quality of stuff I get from LLBean but I feel that increasingly there is a conflict between fuctional outdoor clothing and trying to keep pace with "fashion". This coat is a perfect example. It is well constructed and warm but the pockets are poorly placed on the dart seam and not on the side seam (forcing your arms forward of neutral posture and rounding your shoulders) and not big enough to hold both your hand and a wallet or a dog toy. The hood looks good but is drafty and does't stay up in wind. I also think the sleeve length is a little on the short side for a non petit size. I spend a great deal of time outside in all weather so while I am pleased to have a new warm coat, I am bummed that so many of the great features of past generations have been lost to "better looking" but less functional features.

Besides being practical, this is a stylish and good-looking coat. I have had the jacket version of this for several years, and it has been my favorite coat. This year I purchased the parka version so I'd have built-in wind protection for winter events where I don't want to carry a hat & scarf. The parka's hood can be tightened or loosened as needed, and the parka's length is slightly longer than the jacket.
