I really like this jacket. It keeps you toasty warm outside in the cold and is a great length to keep the wind from getting under it. The only down side is it is not waterproof and when playing in the snow with the kids I got wet through in a few places. The matching mittens are very warm too, but got very wet inside.
Wearing this coat is like having a soft, fluffy blanket wrapped around me, yet it doesn't look all poofy like other down or down-like coats I've tried on. I wore this coat yesterday in a brisk wind in temps in the mid-teens, and I was nice and warm.
On the plus side, parka is very warm and designed well with sturdy zippers etc. On the minus side, the hood has a looped bungee type pull to make the hood fit closer around the face, but search as I might, I couldn't figure out how to tie the loops together. It seems as if there should have been a button or hook to loop the cord on. I ended up tying the loop together as best as I could, but it was awkward.
I like this jacket a lot. It's very comfy and warm. (Don't know if it will hold up to below-zero, since we haven't had that yet this year). It's a little longer and boxier than I expected, but there are adjustable elastic strings inside that give it a bit of a waist, if you want. Really nice.
