I bought this coat for St. Louis winters (for temps in the teens and 20's) and this coat was not nearly warm enough for me. Now I am a cold-natured person, so it may be warm enough for others. It definitely is not wind-resistant either. The petite size fit perfectly and the sizing chart was accurate. Good quality in the coat. I do think that the Comfort Range on women's coats should be tested on a woman, not the same type of man who tests men's! I will be returning this coat and trying another LLBean product and hope I have better success!
My wife ordered the goose down parka, and it was exactly as she had expected. After wearing it for only the first time, she was extremely pleased with the comfort & warmth of it. Quality and workmanship were second-to-none.

I am very happy with this coat. It is extremely warm. I walk 2-3 miles a day and wanted something warm and light in weight. This coat is just what I was looking for. Tonight it is 28 degrees where I live and I walked 2 miles wearing this coat and was comfortable.
I live in New England and was looking for a warm coat for the long snowy winters. The length of the parka is great. It provides more warmth and coverage than the jacket but is not too cumbersome as longer jackets can sometimes be. It is warm and I like that the hood can easily be zipped on or off. I ordered the jacket in black and can definitely wear it to work with dress pants or a skirt but also on the weekends with a pair of jeans. Very versatile. The only thing I don't like about the jacket is the zipper pulls, which are a plastic/silicone type material and seem to stand out on the jacket. I also sometimes have trouble getting the zipper aligned to zip up quickly. But I wouldn't let either of those things deter me from purchasing it again.
