I just bought this jacket specifically for a trip to NYC. Mom told me it was very cold with snow, so I was glad that I had bought LL Bean. And this jacket did not let me down! I was warm the entire time. The fit is flattering. I am 5'2" about 125 lbs and I wore a petite small. The zip cord around the waist makes the jacket look all the more feminine. The storm hood came in handy as in snowed on our last day. I just bought a cute brownish hat and I was good to go. I never felt bulky. The only thing I did not care for too much was the interior chest pocket: the zipper pull was tough to find - and in NY you are always using your MetroCard, so that was a tiny pain, but other than that, love it.
Just received this after hunting for nice down coat everywhere. Perfect fit - I'm 5'4" and the petite L was perfect. Covers the rear and very light weight. Longer than a jacket but not too long of a parka. Does not make you look like a balloon either. Turquoise is beautiful color. Love it!
I bought this parka and when I tried it on thought it was very flattering. It was not bulky and the arm length was nice too. I'm 5'2" and did not get a petite. My husband thought it looked nice and liked it. I wish I could have kept it, but I am picky and I was bothered by the fact that the material to line the collar was grey when the coat color was brown. It stood out way too much and seemed to be the only thing I noticed when wearing it. I really wish LLBean would match this material with the color of the coat. This is the only request I have. I ended up not getting a new coat this year and I'm hoping next year to find the right one. If your not too picky like me you will probably just love this coat.
