I love this vest. Wasn't sure I would use it much because I've never had one, but I'm reaching for it almost daily, wearing it over fleece or over lighter shirts. It worked beautifully for hiking in the Smokies where the temperature can change frequently with the forest density and elevation changes.

Had to return the xl, yeah! The large fit great and I tested it this weekend in a chilly damp barn while sitting around. Never had a shiver. Only drawback is that the inside left pocket is a side zipper and I needed to slip a checkbook in it. Didn't work so would like to see a deep top slip in slot for that purpose.

I have an OLD good down vest from LLBean which I still wear. It's still wonderful and very handy to carry around in it's own little pocket when I'm out photographing the mountains in the winter. It's blue and I needed a black vest so now I have one! And, I'm sure it'll be as good and last for years and years same as my old one. Thanks for the great products. I also have a pima cotton shirt which I bought in 1995 that I have worn regularly since then, and after 16 years and more washings than I can count it still looks GREAT!
Ordered small from website, too much room in chest when I tried it on. Returned to store, they had XS in stock! Fits much better now! (although, not a very feminine cut to it, Bean could do better).
