This is a very comfortable and well-fitting vest. It's a little bulky, so if you're seeking the sleek look, this probably isn't the vest for you. But it's got comforting puffiness and the fleecy lining around the collar feels great on the skin. I take it for long hikes with the dog and it's been great layered over a thermal shirt at 30 degree weather. If anything, it's too warm going up the mountain! I expect this will be my main outer layer until we get down into the low 20s this winter.
I do wish L.L. Bean would update its color scheme for women. I like the purple I bought, but how about more bold colors? I would love to see a traditional green vest. Or a solid burgundy or red. Not all women like pastels or the stereotypical "girlie" colors.

I own two, think its the greatest piece of outer wear ever. I don like jackets until absolutely necesary, so I wear these almost every day. Great fit, not too bulky, very sturdy.
