Color is nice, a bit light for periwinkle. I'm sure this vest is very warm with goose down in it. I did not like the box stitching - it wasn't a flattering look. There may not be a way around it, though. It made me look like a box! I love L.L. Bean but this vest went back.
This vest is warm, light, and at this price it is a great value. Other companies sell similar items for double the price. It is a little bit more roomy on top than I would like, but just a little bit.
ProsDurable, Great Value, Comfortable, Performing as Expected
The vest is great, however, I gave it to my daughter and will order another for myself -- BECAUSE, in the "jacket" version (which I previously ordered), the jacket fit small, so I ordered a large -- SOOO when I ordered the vest I again ordered "large" -- long story short - order the jacket 1 size larger if you want any room, but order the vest as your true, true, true size (vest large is really! a 12-14). Quality on both is outstanding.
I've been shopping around for my first puffy vest - most of the ones I've tried have been too puffy. I find this vest to be warm but not excessively bulky.
I love the color selection in this vest, but decided to try the Otter Brown so that it would match several colors (and I already have a ton of black outerwear). I am impressed with the construction of the vest: I love that the zipper is covered on the outside and the inside to keep out the cold, I love the zippered (and softly lined) hand pockets, and I was pleasantly surprised to find another inside zippered pocket. The lining on the collar is also very soft.
I am 5'9'' 155lbs and I got the Medium. Other reviewers have stated it's designed to fit over thicker clothing, and I'd agree. I find that the chest and armholes are a bit big for wearing it over just a long sleeved tee. I am debating on whether to order another color in the small for those warmer days, if it doesn't become too small in the abdomen.
