I wanted a lightweight yet warm vest that I could either wear alone or use as a first layer. Plus, it had to have POCKETS, preferably zippered. (I am so tired of women's clothing not having all of the features of the guys' clothing!) This vest has it all, and I've used it in both ways I mentioned. The zip pockets are perfect for stashing dog treats or a camera lens cover.
This is a great vest. Super light weight, but super warm. Very comfortable. I got a large (I get my shirts/sweaters in lg), but it's a bit big. It will be fine for putting over a sweater or hoodie, but a bit large for just wearing with a cotton shirt.
