I am so pleased with this vest! It is the first down vest that I have owned and I initially thought of the question that always tends to be on my mind, "Will this puffy vest make me look fat?" Well, let me assure you that it does not! It is fitted, seems true to size and is really quite flattering. I got the fuschia color because the darker ones were not available, (black is slimming, you know) but it still looks good. I love LL Bean!
this was my first down anything. I am a size 12 - Medium (most of the time) I got this vest size L in fuchsia on clearance about a month ago and I was so prepared to return it, but oh surprise, it fits. I know M would have been too tight at the hips. Yes, armholes are a bit big but I think it is normal in a vest such as this, it allows you to wear sweater or blouse under without feeling too tight. I am glad I got mine and love that fuchsia..
My vest came this morning after weeks of anticipation and I am going to be sending it back this afternoon. The polyester fabric on the collar is really tacky and gross and the way that it is fitted in the chest area makes it stick out weirdly, leaving big gaps on the sides of the arm holes.
