I received this last night and have already worn it. Much better quality than one I bought (and returned) from a competitor. I also have the jacket-version of this item. The fit is similar.
This vest is a great value! Not only is the price right, but it's incredibly warm. I have another down vest from a comparable retailer, but my L.L.Bean one is much lighter, and I can actually feel the heat radiating inside; I am usually always cold, but under this vest I don't need a fleece or sweater on top of a long-sleeve shirt because it provides enough warmth on it's own. Definitely a good buy!
This vest is so warm and comfortable I don't want to take it off when I'm in the house. It provides a barrier from the cool air while still allowing you to enjoy the breeze. The green color matches so many other pieces of LLBean clothing, which makes it a great addition to my wardrobe.
I LOVE this vest. I got 2 of them last year-black and pink (which I don't think they have this year) and I wear them constantly.
This vest is very warm, maybe not for the coldest and wetest of New England winter days, but can be worn any other time!.
I have tried other vests, including North Face and just don't like them nearly as much. This is slightly fitted which is great for me and I like the zipper, keeps it snugger and warmer. And it isn't too bulky, perfect for a fitness fleece or sweater underneath. I also bought one of the thin 50% cashmere scarfs last year and I love wearing it with my vests. Probably going to purchase brown and purple this year!!!
