I dislike the bulkiness of a coat once the snow is gone. This vest is perfect. It keeps me warm but doesn't add weight or prohibit movement. It's comfortable, very well made, the color is great (mountain red). I love it and would highly recommend it!
I'm very pleased with the down vest I bought from L. L. Bean. It's very warm and the quality of workmanship is great. I've worn down vests for years but they were just wearing out so I'm glad to get this fine replacement.
I bought the green vest in size large. I usually wear a large (sometimes medium) in LLBean clothing. The vest was a bit snug in the hips, but workable. The green color was much brighter than shown on the website. Not a color I usually wear, but fresh and bright for early spring. I plan to take this with me to Alaska this summer as a layering piece.
I was in the market for buying my first down vest. The first place I looked was the LL Bean catalog and this lovely blue goose down vest caught my eye. As I often do, I read the reviews of people who had already purchased the vest. The praises had me convinced and I wasn't disappointed. The color is just as represented. The fit is true to size with just enough room to allow for layering. The cut is very flattering with it's princess seams and zip pockets that follow the seam. It's very warm without feeling bulky. I love it.
