I've never bought a down vest before, so I can't make a comparison, but I love this one--warm, light-weight, and it doubles as a pillow on an airplane!
I love the vests, I have 4 in beautiful colors. They are stylish, warm and fit perfectly. The sest is the perfect weight, and comfort for driving. I so not like to bundle up in a coat when driving, the vest is the best solution.
I tried on a large and found that the sleeve holes and chest were too "roomy" for my body and "puffed out" too much. I'm 5' 8" and 135lbs.....so normally I would buy a size medium. A medium fit me fine in that area, even with 2 layers of bulky fleece underneath.... but was much too short on my long waist. The shirt/fleece i wore underneath the vest poked out the bottom by at least and inch or two. I returned the medium. I'll probably look into the other vest they sell next year. This vest is super warm and comfy, and I love the zippered pockets.
I really like this vest, it fits well and is very comfortable. I ordered the green one, I wasnt expecting it to be quite so bright, I was expecting it to be more of a hunter green, not a Kelly green but it makes a nice change to wear something bright in the winter.(I usually wear a lot of black and browns) I would definatly recommend it to others
