This sweater will be great for those chilly winter evenings when you are keeping the heat down. It's warm and easy to slip on. I keep mine next to the den.
It's probably 30 years since I first ordered one of these warm full-zip sweaters from LL Bean. In those days it was made of "boiled wool" and was almost sturdy enough to stand up on its own. Over the years I sometimes strayed and bought look-alikes from other sources, especially when I moved to London in the late nineties. But they were all poor substitutes, so nowadays I just order them shipped from Maine (and pay the substantial overseas shipping charge). This year I bought two, to celebrate the new colors.
My husband is a college professor, and has a bunch of v-neck button-down cardigans. He's a true Mr. Rogers. But I love that this sweater is just a bit more sporty, less stodgy. He has four of them now! All of them are lovely shades, and the wool is such a nice quality. Make it in dark brown, and I'll buy it!
I LOVE my RAGG - it's such a geezer sweater, I feel so warm an geezerly in it. I had another with leather elbow patches by another big name catalog company, but it doesn't compare - this one is heavy-weight and beautiful. Buy two - I did. A guy's got to have colors, even if they are gray and red!
