"If you are reading this after sixty glowing reviews you must stop reading and buy one because one can only say so much before you think we are on L L Beans payroll. The coat is good for:- dog walking, car riding with window open, in house reading a book, rushing out side topless for fire wood, shopping, camping, working in fridge. sailing, Not good for climbing mountains, going to north pole, or any extreme requiring a hat. I use a Russian fur hat that looks silly but who cares when your warm and they are freezing. I have alway been warm wearing this coat and never too warm inside say at the mall. The hat is another matter."

"This is a great value. I always look for light weight jackets and even parkas. I have a number of other jackets but those are of the stiff water proof outer covering which I find not comfortable. This is easy to put on and to take off while in a car.. no need to struggle to get it off when the car heats up."

"For the price, this is an incredible jacket. It fits very well and provides just the right amount of warmth on chilly days. The details are very well thought out, from the velcro closures on the sleeves to the roomy cell phone/mp3 pocket on the chest to the huge inner pocket. The construction is also top notch. I looked at the more expensive down jackets on the LL Bean site, but I am glad I chose this one. I commented to my wife "It is like wearing a comfy sleeping bag." I highly recommend this jacket."

"Down is the best insulator if you are going to stay dry, this is a great around town jacket, you will not get chilled waiting for the bus for 20 minutes in Minnesota, try that with fleece or leather! Jacket has good windstop and excellent cuffs at wrist and collar. It does not compress as much as a higher loft down jacket so I would not recommended it for backpacking, it lacks vents so I would not recommend it for activity sports like cross country skiing or snowshoeing. No cord plug access from chest pocket. Fit is a little bigger than I like, but good with a sweater underneath."

"So far so good..... Cons: It's a shame the beautiful light Blue Color which was shown on the web site and attracted me in the 1st place was last years's color and was no longer available....Boooo!!! "bought two of these one for my husband one for my son. They loved it so far. It is very light weight but seems to be warm and wind proof. but is too early to tell whether it is warm enough for the winter.
