I have the larger personal organizer and use it often. Have ordered several of the smaller organizers as gifts. Everyone who have received them enjoy them.
For the longest time, I poo-pooed this item, and wondered how this item was any better than a Ziploc bag. Well, to make a long story short, I decided to give it a try after receiving a recommendation, and the Personal Organizer is now one of my favorite L.L.Bean Products! I am essentially a semi-nomad; I live on the west coast, go to college on the east coast, and am studying abroad in Europe. What I like most about this bag is that it allows me to move things around quickly. I don't really have a need to take stuff out of it (as a matter of fact, my stuff stays more organized if I don't), so when I need to pack up and leave, I just pull the entire thing off the hook I have it hanging on. I love the many compartments, the ability to hang it, and the small, but functional, mirror that comes on the inside. The biggest perk, in my opinion, is the removable hanging shower caddy. This means that my stuff never sits on a dirty hostel shower floor, yet I have a lightweight means of carrying my toiletries around (I don't need to bring the entire kit with me into the shower). I love that the bag itself is durable (essential when you're on the go and you really don't have time to deal with things that fall apart) and the fabric is water-resistant. Life isn't ideal, and I sometimes have to pack stuff away wet, but I don't worry too, too much about any damage I inflict on my trusty kit! Highly recommended!
