I bought the medium sized organizer originally, and found it awfully big and bulky, especially for short trips. I rationalized buying another organizer in the small size because I make a lot of overnight trips. The small is perfect for me, and I actually took it on a two week trip to England recently and had plenty of room for all my many supplies, so I'm very happy that I downsized.
It has lots of compartments which are all very nicely arranged and everything stays put - I've had organizers that were similar but didn't have closed compartments and things would slide down to the bottom of the bag and be hard to see and reach. With this organizer you can see everything and get to it easily.
Other reviewers thought the small was too small, but if you use travel-sized toiletries it's fine. I initially wished there was a size between medium and small (the medium seems more like a large compared to the small) but after taking it overseas I think it's perfect. It takes up very little room in my luggage, but holds what I need.
I purchased this item several years ago. and used it and used it. Mine looked so grungy that my husband suggested I order a new one. I saw in one of the reviews that someone had washed this in the washing machine, so I thought "why not" . I threw it in with a load of towels, and it came out looking brand new. Thanks LLBean for a quality, durable produce.
I have traveled extensively for both business and pleasure, and I'm picky about my toiletry bag. The large is the perfect size for me and my toddler. If I remove the shower caddy in the center, I can pack my full-size items like sunscreen and bug spray. This will be a great bag for trips where I unpack my toiletries when I arrive at my destination. What could make this product even better would be if the zippered pockets were slightly wider (I had a hard time fitting my toothbrush in its travel case) and if it could stand on its own. My husband likes the fact that it won't take up much room in the suitcase.
Bought this for light traveling. I should have went with the large, but the medium will do just fine. The quality off LL bean is noticeable right from the get go. The material is thick, and the organizer is full of compartments for storage. I would suggest this to anyone who ever needs to travel, or just wants to keep all person hygiene items in one place. This is a must for anyone who spends any time on the road.
