I bought this family size bag a few years ago and now wanted another one of the same size but a different color. I'm disappointed that the one I received today is decidedly of cheaper quality. I just pulled out my old bag to compare it to the one I received today. The sides in the former bag were a bit thicker - almost a slight padding to protect delicate items - but the sides of this new bag are thin plastic. When you hold it up to the light, you can see through it. Also, the bottom of the former bag had a rigid base so the bag would hold its shape and again be more protective of the contents, but the new bag has just a thin plastic bottom. I will need to return it because I wanted a bag of the same quality as my original bag from LL Bean.
Compared to what I had (standard 2 pocket with zippers on each side) I am completely satisfied with this bag. I can finally organize everything, and I can fit 2 20 plus oz lotion bottles in this bag with no problem.
I've purchased and returned these things from a number of merchants. It would seem to be a fairly simple item to design and manufacture correctly but it ain't so. This bag is deep enough, has enough storage areas (plus a detachable shower caddy with hanging hook) and - the hanging hooks for the bag and caddy rotate. I know, it sounds like a 'duh' thing but a lot of bags have a fixed hook which makes it kinda awkward in some situations. The bright yellow stands out so you aren't likely to walk off without it. So, I'm pretty happy with this puppy. Seems to be well made and hopefully, durable.
