At first, I loved the canoe green and navy stripes, even though the stripes do not match at the seams. However, after about a year, the dye has started to rub off or fade to reveal the white/natural-colored canvas. It looks like soap residue or dust, but when I try to wipe it off it's clear that the dye is gone. I have the large and it's been great for the gym and for road trips. I don't think it's been put under any extraordinary kind of stress to cause the rubbing-off. The bag is still sturdy and tough and seems like it will last for many more years, but it looks pretty bad up close. I'll stick with the classic, undyed totes or the custom-made totes (which I assume are yarn dyed) in the future.
