I have bought this style shoe for my very active children before - a great alternative to sneakers for the summer. They wear them as school appropriate alternative to sandals as well. This year I ordered a pair for me and for my husband. He loves them as much as I do. Very comfortable, very versatile, great for walking, bike riding, wearing to the beach, or even all day at the amusement park. Unlike water shoes, my feet dry quickly in them. They are breezy but not flimsy. I highly recommend them.
Note: I found them to be an exact size to what I regularly wear (unlike some of the earlier posts). My husband wears a 12 1/2 usually and had ordered a 13. He returned them for the 12 and find them a much better fit.
The Explorer sandals are great shoes. They are very comfortable for everyday wear, substantial enough for moderate hiking and do very well in water. They even have drain holes in the soles! I wore them while pressure-washing my deck, and while hiking in and out of creeks and along dusty trails. They got pretty crusty looking! I figured if they were intended to get wet, why not put them in the washing machine. I did and now they look brand new again. I love 'em!
I bought a pair of these last spring, and absolutely love them! I wear them every day. They are lightweight, and offer wonderful support. I feel like I am walking on air! I wore these to Disney World for the first time in May and my feet felt great all day. The vents on the bottom and the top keep my feet cool on very hot and humid days. I want a pair of these in red and green, but they are not available in my size. I just wish LL Bean could get these back in stock before the summer ends!
