I read the reviews and hoped I would be able to wear these. They are really good looking. The vents in the bottom are not too comfortable but I think I could get used to it. For me, the sides hit me in the ankle uncomfortably. My ankles must be a little low as I have this trouble with a lot of shoes. Its a bummer as they are good looking and the vents would make them very cool for summer.
Originally bought for summer hiking on the beach these sandals were great on shipboard too. They worked well for climbing the rigging and on long walks in ports. Wide in the toes, they were comfortable, airy all day shoes. I plan to use them while white water rafting, shopping, and just about any time in warm weather.
I loved these shoes, they're so cute, but I purchased them for walking and like many people could not get used to the drainage slits. I wore them on my treadmill for 2 weeks (so as not to dirty they bottoms if I had to return them) and they were extremely comfortable UNTIL I got off of the treadmill! Ouch! I would have huge welts from the drainage slits. I'm disappointed, I wanted to keep them, but they didn't work for my purpose. I just couldn't get used to them.
I purchased these sandals before I could actually wear them for the spring/summer season in Upper Michigan. I bought a size 7 and I am going to have to order a 1/2 size down. If you will not wear the shoes w/ socks, I think your normal size would be okay. Sometimes I just have to order a size down w/o socks. The color Red of the sandals are very pretty.
