I usually wear a 6 1/2, and my feet are medium width. The 6 1/2 fit great. It's a little snug to get on, but it's comfortable once my foot is in. The foot bed has nice support, with a bit of spring to it--very pleasant. Addressing the issue regarding the water drainage holes/slits: The shoes I received have only small holes, so no pinching of the skin on the bottom is possible. Perhaps the shoe soles have been tweaked since those complaints.
I have one complaint and one question: The quality of the sewing/piecing with the neoprene fabric under the leather on the sides was nearly poor enough for me to send them back for an exchange. And the question: The bungee loop is really short. It has the plastic knob piece to hold the bungee when it's adjusted (which is not really needed because the bungee cord is so short), but what is the extra scratchy black hook thing that's also attached to the cord at the end? It doesn't appear in the picture of the shoe on the website. Is it part of the manufacturing process that they forgot to remove? How can I remove it?
I really, really like these shoes. They are very comfortable and are so sporty and cute. I'm ordering a second pair in hopes that the fabric piecing/sewing will be a bit neater/cleaner in quality. It's a great product, LL Bean.
These sandals look cute, but they have very little to no support for your feet. The style suggests a supportive sandal for all day wear, but my feet were killing me after a few hours due to the lack of footbed contours. I bought a half size up from my normal and the length was fine. Width seems true to size. I would not recommend these shoes to anyone who stands on their feet for long periods of time. Find a better footbed!

I initially wanted to order the vinyl sandals since they would dry more quickly, but these were great. They were true to size and were super comfortable. I wore them we went zip lining in Jamaica, and they were perfect.
Just received my Explorer Sandals today. Love them! I danced down the stairs to show them off to my husband. In less than 5 minutes, I was at the computer ordering a pair for my husband and another pair for me in the canvas teal color. I have a narrow foot, but am able to tighten them enough so that I am a happy hiker:)
