This was my first time ordering shoes from L.L. Bean and I am very pleased. The size was just perfect. They were so comfortable from the time I first put them on. I only regret I couldn't buy another pair in white.
I traveled/hiked/walked all over Italy and France in these shoes. I hiked 6.5 hours in Cinque Terre and was the only one with no blisters or aching feet! I can't rave enough about how amazing these shoes are on a hot day for walking around.
I ordered these Explorer sandals in red -- beautiful. When they arrived, I thought they were very hard to pull on over the heel. Since then, I've worn them a lot, and they've softened up to where I can pull the rear strap on easily over my heel. I've worn them on 3-mile walks and during a driving trip to Arizona last week. While there, I got several compliments about them looking so snazzy, and I feel smart wearing them. I think I could really ditch most of my other casual footwear in favor of these great sandals. Also, I'm an 8-1/2W, but these did not come in the wide width. Still, they fit me great even though I chose not to order half a size up -- nothing hurts. I just love these puppies and hope to buy more in other colors before long.
I bought these sandals last summer and love them. Because I wear them often I decided to order a second pair in another color but unfortunately they were sized slightly smaller than the sandals I bought last year and I had to send them back. I would have exchanged them for a half size larger but they are now backordered until November. Next time I'll know to order earlier in the season!
