These shoes were a little short in my size but cut very full. The next size up would have been been way too big. Would have needed socks to stay on. But, who wants to wear socks with these? The shoes are cute and sturdy. I was disappointed that they did not fit me. Although my feet are average width, LL Bean shoes seems to be wider in general. Thank goodness for LL Bean's return policy.
While the drain holes in the soles of these sandals seem like a good idea, for me they just pinch the bottom of my feet. As I walk, the skin on the bottom of my feet goes in these holes and you can see the "ridge" it creates when I take the sandals off. As with any LL Bean product the construction and materials are solid. I'm bringing mine back and will buy the name brand sandal these are modeled after.
I bought the "same" Explorer Sandal in the past year. I decided to order another pair, since they were so comfortable & hardy. The Explorer Sandal NOW is like a knock-off of the original. The sizing is different, & the material quality seems poorer. I should have ordered an extra pair immediately. The product now is a disappointment.
These are great shoes. I have many different pairs in various colors. You can walk forever in them and they are so comofortable and really cute on...cuter than in the picture. They are the best of sandals and the best of athletic shoes in one shoe.
