For the first time in my life I can go hiking without wearing socks. To ladies of a certain age, this is a definite advantage! These shoes are sturdy for hiking while allowing your feet to remain cool and comfortable. I was going to buy these and the Mary Jane's and return the one I liked the least. I'm keeping both!
These are super comfortable even for someone like me who is on my feet all day long in the summer! I wear them indoors with socks and they let my feet breathe and stay cool. I got the green ones and love the color too. The only thing I would caution people about is that another reviewer said that her orthotics fit in these sandals- which is why I ordered them! I have custom orthotics and they DO NOT fit in these sandals. Maybe the other reviewer was referring to a different kind of insert? But even so, these shoes are really very comfortable.
I bought these because of the great price, when compared to the leading manufacturer. They are sized at least a size larger, though. I have size 9 of the leading manufacturer's brand, which are a little tight, so I went up to a 9 1/2 in Bean's brand, and they're really much too large. A 9 would fit--but too bad they're out of stock! Love the color, though. Tan with pink on them. I didn't notice the pink in catalog or on line, and was pleasantly surprised. Some people may not like the pink, though, so beware.
I am very impressed with the sandals. I have owned them for almost 6 months now and they are by far the most comfortable sandals. I also have Keene sandals and Nike sandals that are similar style as these and I like them but these LLBean pair are a lot more comfortable.
The only negative... if I had to pick something... would be that they don't clean that well. They are not the pretty green that they were when I first got them but I wear them almsot everyday so I can't complain too much!
I jsut wish I could buy another pair but they are out of my size!!!
