I bought these shoes in my normal size, and there was no way I could get my foot in the shoe. If the back had an adjustable strap it probably would have helped. I decided to return the shoes for a refund since I would have had to order at least a size larger, and I didn't want to chance getting another pair that didn't fit. I bought these sandals for my husband for kayaking and vacation travel. They look great on him. I like the style more than the Keen's or Teva's. He says the fit is perfect. They hold up/clean up good. Would like water sandals that are a little higher on the sides which would keep the sand from getting between feet and foot bed but haven't found any as of yet.
Purchased before a week trip to Maine, my Explorers were down right comfortable to walk in. Absolutely no slippage of sandal on my feet. Sole is well cushioned. Only feature which was a minor drawl back is drain holes in sole which allow moisture to rise up through sole on wet surfaces. Ok when in bare feet but a little uncomfortable when wearing socks. However, I kept wearing them anyway and enjoy them.
