These are the most comfortable sandals that I own. I like that my toes are not completely exposed like with other sandal styles. They have good arch support and are ideal for summer hiking. I am so glad that I bought them! I have even ordered ladies' explorer sandals for my mother!
I have ordered two pairs of these Sandals and initially got off to a bad start as one pair had a manufacturer's defect, but LL.Bean graciously replaced them. The sandals feel like sneakers and are very comfortable, with great air exposure throughout, which is what I wanted for warm summer days. I wear them at my job which often takes me to hospital emergency rooms. My feet are covered enough that I don't feel I am wearing inappropriate footwear for a professional setting. The only down-side I have experienced relates to one of the sandal's best features: the breathable soles. When walking in dry areas the soles provide nice ventilationn to one's feet...but make the mistake of walking through a shallow puddle and..YIKES...the water comes through. This feature would hardly be a problem in other applications such as walking the beach. Initially they were a little hard to get on but now slip on easily. A caveat: order one half size larger than your foot size. I read this in a review before I purchased mine and it proved to be 100% true! I would happily buy more of these, but would avoid puddles or wearing them on a rainy day.!
