Love the tumblers, but in today's hurly-burly world, it's dicey to have tumblers that can be washed in a dishwasher, but only on the top shelf. Otherwise, they work nicely to insulate cold drinks, are nice to look at, and are capacious.
I love Tervis Tumbers and I was happy to see the New England lighthouse design. After moving away from the area, I love having reminders of NE around the house. Also bought the ice bucket!
Ice lasts in these cups for a very long time-- I am a round-the-clock ice water drinker, and I won't drink it from any other cup! I think the greatest benefit is that they don't sweat on the outside and leave rings on the table. My Dad first recommended Tervis tumblers to me, and I thought, "yeah, right", but then my husband bought me my first set last Christmas, and I loved them! This is my 2nd set of them. They are virtually indestructible-- and if by some chance one DOES break, Tervis guarantees them for life!
Don't hesitate to buy them if you like to keep cold drinks cold. I will say that this morning, I tried drinking my coffee out of one to see if it kept it hot. . . (Tervis advertises that it keeps hot drinks hot and cold drinks cold), but I was not as thrilled with their performance with hot beverages. I can't give them less than 5 stars, though, for the reasons mentioned above.
These are the most popular cups in our cupboard. We use them for morning hot drinks as well as desert ice drinks...I only wish they came in a larger size also.
