I have four Soft Shell Trail Model jackets and have been trying hard to replace them since they were discontinued in favor of the not-as-nice Pathfinder model. My Soft Shell Trail Model jackets are all XL and comfortably accommodate turtlenecks underneath. This XL seemed to be 2 sizes too small. The sleeves were embarrassingly short. The jacket is very light in weight. Assuming that it does keep you as warm as promised, it'd be very nice to be warm in something so light in weight. Unfortunately I'd need a Women's size to match my other Misses XLs, and that's not available.

I love this jacket. It's so warm,I can wear it out walking in 30 degree weather as a top layer. It's so light weight and comfy. I wish I had one in every color.
I have been looking for an "in between" jacket to wear until I break down and start wearing my winter coat. This jacket is fairly light but it is very warm. I would rate it great for down in the 40's. I did wear it recently as cold as 35 degrees but I was outside moving around. I usually wear a medium and this does run close to the body. I would plan on wearing it tighter than normal but it is designed that way. I can easily fit a t-shirt and sweater under it. Lots of pockets too. I am thinking about getting another one I can get dirtly for yard work.
This jacket fits well, is attractive and is quite warm. My only criticism in that I wish it were a little longer in front. My Trail Model Fleece Vest (same size) peeks out from underneath -- a look that I do NOT like.
