I am a true Bean fan. I work outdoors in the mountains of Vermont during the coldest time of the year. I needed a middle layer that would buffer the winter chill and keep me warm and still allow me to move freely. The Ascent Fleece did not disappoint me. It is a perfect middle layer to my LL Bean Gore-Tex outer shell. This combo breaks the wind and keeps me dry regardless of the conditions. I'm always ouutside and the Ascent jacket not only serves as an effective middle layer but can be worn as an outer layer depending on the weather. It is funtional and attractive. I'm so glad I have LL Bean in my life - so that I can do things that give me great joy and in comfort and style.

It is warm and stop wind. The size just fit right. Wear it every day during fall and in the winter may put additional jacket on top of it and get warmer. I recommend it to everyone.

This is the best jacket I have ever owned. Amazing quality and still light. I am an avid backpacker/outdoors lover and this jacket is extremely warm and yet lightweight. The pockets are partially mesh lined but are brushed with fleece so they are still warm. Fully fleece lined .The sizing runs a little small so I would buy a size larger than usual. Absolutely worth the price, this jacket will last.
