I bought this jacket for my wife - she loves it. She originally hinted at a 3/4 length "parka" styled jacket, but i thought this would suit her for her professional work and casual wear, while being worn more often than just winter. She is quite suprised at the warmth (today we had a -10C or 16F day), she likes the cut and style of it. I like that it shows curves!
The lower zipper is taking some getting used to, but she likes it. As a medium size it fits snug around her and is true to her size. If she wanted to layer more fleece it would be too tight though.
Gave it to my wife for Christmas. She really likes the fit and appearance as she's not fond of bulky outerwear. She also likes the color (black coffee). She's worn each piece separately and together as we've had a mixed bag of weather in the last few days. All the reviews regarding the sizing are accurate; she usualy wears a small, but I bought a medium, and it's a great fit. Also accurate are the reviews about the 2-way zipper-it took her a few tries to get the hang of it-but there's nothing wrong with the zipper. I worked in the outerwear industry for 24 years, and this garment is well made. I am very pleased, and, more importantly, my wife is pleased.
This raincoat is a good all temp coat. The fit is true, unlike some of the other comments. The only problem is the zipper to the raincoat. It works poorly and most times I just use the snaps, which is a little upsetting. The zipper for the lining works great, so I'm not sure why they couldn't get the zipper to the outer coat (the most important one) to work properly.
Warm, not too bulky which happily surprised me since most LLBean clothes are too large and wide for me. I agree with some reviewers that the zipper is a little tricky to zip. The inside vest is nice on its own. The fabric is waterproof and dirt/mud proof, just wipe off the dirt with a wet cloth. Wind proof, convenient to travel with, it's a good investment. I am really happy with it.
