This coat is everything I expected and more. We are plannning a cruise this fall to Nova Scotia and down the St. Lawrence River to Quebec. This coat is my answer to comfort and easy packing. The coat is of light weight and yet gives you all the warm comfort. This coat fits beautifully.
Where I live, average summer temps are in the 60s...I got the light color (a good-looking true beige) and the weight is just right for late spring through early fall. Yes, zipper sticks at the bottom. I am a small size Medium, got an M and it fits. I like tailored clothes for work--so the straight back is too boxy for me, and I will get it taken in for wearing professionally. Fabric is very nice, pockets just where I want them. Very well done, a great solution for a range of temperatures!
This is a must-have addition to any active woman's outdoor clothing collection. I purchased for a rainy trip to VT, and found I loved the cozy warmth and flexibility of the jacket, the lightness of both for carrying through the airport and/or stuffing in my sack, and the chic look it gave when I went to dinner. While walking along the Jersey shore on a very windy afternoon as part of my trip home, I couldn't help but smile on how the coat's length and insulation kept me outdoors in weather I'd rather snooze through. A gem of a concept...3 coats in 1!
I thought this coat would be great for travel, particularly during changeable seasons. Like many other LL Bean customers, I was disappointed at first that my regular size was too small, but the next size up turned out to be just fine, even when I was wearing a sweater underneath. I first wore the coat in Israel in March, when the weather ranged from warm and sunny to cold and rainy in a matter of a few days. No problem! On pleasant days, I wore the inner liner on its own; on nasty days I wore both parts together and they kept me dry and comfortable. I even got compliments from some of the other women on my trip. Now I have the coat that I can take with me anywhere. Well done, LL Bean!
