It's a really nice parka, but I would rather have the fleece lining completely zipped in, otherwise my daughter can't take the jacket off without turning the sleeves inside out. When she tried to get her hands into the sleeves, the fleece was either rolled and bunched up under the sleeve or was showing through the sleeve opening. I think this jacket would work better for older kids . Another issue was the hood. It wasn't fleece-lined like in our favorite warm-up jacket, and it does make the collar very stiff when rolled in. I still prefer the warm-up jacket to this one, but my daughter loved the tidal blue color so much that I don't know if she lets me return it.
Just got this jacket on 1/2 price sale. Got the bright blue and it's beautiful. My son loves it. I did read the reviews, and they're right about the sleeves. The cuffs are very hard to get on. My son is almost 7 and I bought the 8. There is room to grow, but the cuffs are very snug with the fleece underneath and he needs help getting it on. I will keep it, and look forward to warmer weather when I can separate the shell and the fleece. It zips together nicely, and is warm and cozy and very cute, but doesn't fit right in cuffs.
I purchased 2 jackets for my children. The medium size didn't seem to be as much of a problem as the size large. I have twin 8 year old boys, one larger than the other. Bought for the bigger boy who couldn't get his hand through at all. Tried it on his twin who is very slender and he had to work as well. Love the coat if they could get it on! My 7 year old was able to wear the medium without a problem. But will he next year? I'll have to think on that.
