Started snow this morning, rushed to LL bean and got the jacket for the afternoon sled. My son is only 4 but I got the 5/6 for more wear and better coverage. The inner fleece is almost like the trail model fleece, the outer shell stands pretty well under 4 hours of snow, at the end of the night, only the hood was a little damp. But I do wish there is a little insulation on the shell & the hood for more warmth and the color would be brighter for the inner fleece. Another great product from LL Bean!
I ordered this coat for my son. I was unhappy with the coat, as the inner lining came out through the bottom of the sleeves each time he put the coat on. He would not wear it because of this. I did recieve EXCELLENT customer service to return the coat and order a different style. I am very happy with the quality of most items ordered from L.L. Bean!
I love this parka. It's practical and the colors are great. In Oregon, where we live is seems perfect for the weather. When it is not raining one can just wear the fleece and when it is combine the two parts. However my only issue with it is the way the sleeves are made. My son hates wearing his parka when he has to wear the fleece and raincoat together because his hands just don't fit through especially if he is wearing a long sleeve shirt underneath. LLBean please make some changes to this design, because otherwise it is just so darn good.
My 10 year old loves this jacket. He likes the removable fleece jacket and he wears it all the time. He is looking forward to our up coming snow trip to really try it out.
