I was thrilled to receive this wonderful book a few months ago! The contents are fascinating and so well illustrated. A beautifully bound book,and the cover is so eye-catching. The various chapters are different, contain lovely photographs,and the "24 hour account" of living activities is marvelous. I love it all and this book is surely a testament to the integrity and character and wonder of L.L.Bean. I am so in awe of this store and all it has brought to me in the last so many years! The joy I have felt when a package arrives is beyond words! This prize book and all the chapters/illustrations and writings is a masterpiece. I am grateful to L.L.Bean,the wonderful personnel who answer the phone,take my orders` and the product room staff as well.You are all splendid human beings! I am such a fan of L.L.Bean and all that it stands for as well. You are appreciated by many,many individuals. Bravo!

This is a very informative book. Love that the cover looks and feels like a LL Bean bag! The pictures through the years of outfitting are wonderful. Nice addition to our log cabin's outdoor theme and reading area that includes the old "Hunting-Fishing and Camping" book by LL Bean that you see in the picture. We are waiting for the new version of this book to come.

I love this book, filled with so much information and so many stories. I read 80 pages in one day while waiting for my plane at the airport. I only had to stop because my neck started to hurt from looking down at the book for so long. I will definitely read this book again. You can tell from the feel and smell of the book that it will be an excellent read for all generations.

This is a great book reviewing the history of the company L. L. Bean, the founder himself, and the people that helped shape L. L. Bean as it evolved over the years and has remained the iconic institution that it is.
The binding is beautifuly appropriate to the flavor of the company, too.
I had many flashes of nostalgia as I read it; I've been a customer for 50+ years, and always been well satisfied with your products and services.

I loved reading this book mostly because of memories I have of some of the products and more particularly pictures of the old building I used to visit when I was young. Going to LL Bean was fun for us as teenagers and we would take off from Worcester, MA and drive up, shop, hang out and come home... a great road trip! So this history brought all that back for me!

Trip down "Memory Lane"
I first found out about LL Bean from my Uncle, a Clam Warden and avid Hunter in Scituate, Ma during the mid 1950's. The only store with decent Hunting apparel and warm "Chopper" gloves for Pheasent & Duck Hunting.
I've been an avid buyer of your products ever since.
Keep up the "Good Work"

This book was an interesting read - basically a history of LLBean and some of their most popular products throughout the years. Lots of photos. I've been an LLBean customer since I was a middle school student in the 1970s, but I remember some of the older products as items that hung on porch hooks at my grandparents' camp at the lake. I know visitors at our cottage will appreciate taking a peek at this book, so we plan to add it to the bookcase in the spare room up there this summer.

This is the second LLB book I've received as a gift, and I enjoyed this one even more than the first! It's almost like an LLB scrapbook and a very interesting read. The cover is unique--like the boat & tote canvas, with a cloth LLB label sewn in.
I love LLB products and the extended range of sizes in women's apparel and petites. Good quality and customer service is the best.
I'd love to visit the Freeport store and see that gigantic Bean boot! I've gifted LLB boots before, and after reading this book, I may have to order a couple more pairs, maybe even some for me.
It's nice to be shown that LLB appreciates its regular customers, thanks!

This big book is a wonderful keepsake, with Bean-quality writing and binding and genuine historical substance and insights. I especially appreciate the almost-scrapbook-like design, which combines hundreds of old photos, newspaper clippings, letters, telegrams, catalogue pages and so on with dozens of interviews, anecdotes, product histories, employee profiles and even customer comments from the Bean website. This is a well-deserved tribute to a Maine legend and an American icon.

I have enjoyed this book very much. It lets us wander the the last century seeing the company survive and also be reminded of the decades as they passed. L.L. was the type character that my dad was and I admire the principles that they had and I hope I have carried their values with me to my grandchildren. Good Book. Congratulations on your efforts.

I was not sure when I ordered this book what to expect! However since I have shopped one of the LL Bean catalogues or the Columbia Md through the past 20+years, I knew I was always a "very satisfied customer." The slogan motto "Guaranteed to Last" really resonates more than the typical store's merchandise. The book was very informative and refreshing to read about the LL Bean History of development and growth and success. It was great to get a detailed account and insight into Mr. LL Bean himself and the values that he believed in and devoted his business practices to with not only his merchandise as well as his employees.
The book was great to read and the photos of the growth of the company made it very pleasurable. I read it from cover to cover in less than a week where most books take me several months to finish. Great Publication! Thank you!
By the way I have visited the flagship store in Freeport about 5 years ago..very impressed and hope to make it back someday....soon.
