I love these totes - all sizes, zipper, no zipper - but my favorite is the sail orange color. I wanted to add to my collection but can't because I was told the color has been discontinued. Such a disappointment, please bring it back!

I bought one of these to give as a diaper bag. The mongramming really stands out. 2 things you should be aware of when ordering....every year they change the colors that they offer for the straps- so a color that I chose for someone last year is now no longer available so I was unable to add a bag in a different size to their collection. I was disapointed because I wanted their collection to match- but now that is not possible. The second thing you should be aware of is that the canvas can arrive with a STRONG smell. This has happened with over half of the boat and tote bags. Some arrived and had almost no smell and others arrived and smelled soo badly they had to be returned because even after airing them out for weeks the smell remained- others that were just slightly smelly aired out in a month and were able to then be gifted. I talked to customer service about this multiple times and they said that sometimes this happens- it is a HEAVY duty canvas that is made to hold up to a lifetime of a abuse so sometimes it has a slight smell when it is brand new. With this being said- it has not stopped me from ordering boat and tote bags repeatedly because everyone LOVES them. They stand up on their own because of the stiff canvas. They can carry heavy items and you do not have to worry about the bag breaking. And the best part of all is that they look great. Clean, crisp, and classy. The monogramming is really what makes this bag pop. The zipper top on this bag is really awesome because you don't have to worry about people swiping stuff from your bag when you are in a crowd or things falling out in the car. I highly recommend this as a diaper bag.

I just purchase 2 xlarge bags, one for me and one for my MOH for my destination wedding. Each was embroidered with our initial. I received them yesterday and was so excited. Not only did they build me 2 custom bags and embroidered them but, I received them in just 3 days! The size is PERFECT for all of the last minute incidentals. I would definitely recommend this item to anyone looking for an awesome bag that is well made & made in the USA.

I've bought two of these bags in the last six months (both size large). The first was a Christmas gift for that person who has everything, custom colored in black with red trim for their daughters' school colors.
I was so impressed with the quality that I used my $10 reward towards a standard canvas one for myself. Now I don't know how I ever lived without it. We use it for all kinds of random things, and I recently used it as my carry-on luggage on a trip to Vegas (measures within most airline dimensions perfectly). It packed more than my husband's carry-on suitcase of the same size no problem. And I'd never worry about it being ripped, because the fabric is so tough.
What a great buy!

My aunt has had her Boat and Tote for years, and it has lasted and really held up over all of its uses. It was finally time for me to purchase one, as I was wanting a multi-purpose bag, one i could take to the beach, while also using it for a weekend trip. I love this bag. I recommend the monogramming - as it adds that something extra to the look.

I just love these bags. I keep them in my car for the beach and games. I keep a small one for my kids toys that are lying around in the car. My only complaint, more colors. Need yellow, orange, bring back the nice kiwi green.

I got the large size in the pink color with regular handles/straps. The monogram said "dark pink" but its similar in color to the pink on the bag and I wouldn't call it dark at all. I got this bag because I'm thinking of getting them for my bridesmaids as gifts and wanted to see it in person. The large is WAY too big for a bridesmaid gift in my opinion....would probably have to go for the medium or even small. This bag is GREAT quality though and I can already tell it will last forever. The material is THICK and the construction is very strong. The pink color is very nice, really girly, and not too dark or too light. I can already tell I'll want more colors and sizes for myself!

This is my second tote & I LOVE it!!! I have a large size with short handles that is perfect for the beach or As a weekend tote!! And I have a med with short handles in pink waterlily, I Love it!! It's not too neon or pale. It's perfect for lugging around smaller things, laptop, water bottle, magazines & toys for my dog!!! And still have plenty of room!!!! It's VERY well made & I love that it's made in the USA!! I plan to get another med in black for winter ;) thank you for making such a great tote !!!!

This is my third Boat & Tote bag. I purchased the small version with the zip-top to use as a purse, and it's the perfect size. Holds everything I need and doesn't fall over when I put it down. The fabric around the zipper folds down neatly when the bag is unzipped.
I ordered black straps and black monogram, and it looks very crisp and classic against the natural canvas. I like it so much I will probably order more in other colors. I've had the large and medium versions for 10 years and they have held up very well.

I purchased 7 boat and totes. We will use them as gift bags for the out of town guests staying at hotels for my daughter's university graduation. She was a member of the co/ed varsity sailing team. Of course we did a nautical theme. These totes were so nice I reordered one for myself and one for my daughter. Coincidentally, the Regatta Blue, happens to be, the same as my daughter's university colors. These bags are really made to last. The monograming feature made them super personal. I am sure we will use them for years. They get a 10+ out of ten for being perfect.

Purchased this bag with red trim for the beach/pool. 2nd time out with it the bottom got wet and the red dye ran all over. Luckily I noticed it before I put it on the leather seat of our car. Would have been a disaster!

I FINALLY bought this bag in the medium size with the zipper top for my work tote. With the exception of not having an interior pocket (or two), this bag is everything I had hoped it to be. I am not sure what it would take to wear this thing out. The construction appears to be of excellent quality so I anticipate many years of use {and abuse ;) }

We ordered a medium, long-handled personalized zip-top tote to carry around our toddler's goodies....snacks, books, extra change of clothes, etc. We knew that we would receive a smart, durable bag. I purchased for my bridesmaids and I was ever more excited when I received than when I ordered. Perfection. I ordered the medium tote with regular handles with each Bridesmaid's first initial. I might even give them early since I know they will get so much use out of them this summer. Highly recommend as a great, quintessential Maine, gift.

I excitedly ordered the large boat and tote in Waterlilly Pink with a monogram after reading a ton of excellent reviews. I figured if over 800 people loved this bag, i would too!
It finally arrived last friday and it is beautiful! It is so sturdy and there have to be a 1000 different uses for this bag. I am in nursing school and I have to lug countless textbooks, planners, notebooks, as well as stethoscopes, BP cuffs, etc. wherever I go. I thought this oversized tote would be perfect. This bag is HUGE!! And to think I almost ordered the X-Large!! :) I put three text books, a notebook, a planner, writing utensils, my huge waterbottle, and anything else I could possible need for the day and it BARELY covered the bottom of the tote. NO JOKE! It is actually too big! I am definitely keeping the bag (it is gorgeous) and using it as an overnight bag, and im going to reorder one in medium for school. The tote is so large for my needs that it was rather comical. One of my classmates noted that SHE could fit in my bag! (LOL) This would be the perfect size for a weekender bag, but it you are thinking this is just a nomal, oversized tote, consider getting the medium.

I ordered this to pack dog "stuff" in when we go out because the dog typically requires more stuff than I do! I have a similar bag from a competitor for me that I much prefer--this one is very stiff (I know it will loosen up, but I've had it 6 mo already), it has no interior pockets and some of the stitching is coming loose already. Next time I'm just going to order the competitor's bag.

I had been looking for a new tote for a long time. As a pre-nursing student, I need a bag that can carry at least one heavy book, notebooks, etc. at a time. I have a competitor's tote, which is just too small for carrying everything I need.
I ordered the medium sized, long handled, zip-top in pink waterlily with a monogram, and so far I LOVE it. It holds everything I need - currently, an mini netbook, the powercord, 5-subject notebook, novel sized book for class, planner, leather journal, zip wallet, pack of highlighters, pen case/pens, sunglasses, clutch (for smaller objects - chapstick, cell phone), car keys, small bottle of lotion, and a .5 liter waterbottle. In other words, everything.
The zip-top is key in that it adds a little bit of room to the bag, and nothing falls out. If you don't want to use it, it folds down around the inside edge, like it is not even there.
Some reviews said the pink is too pink (?!), but if you are looking for something pink, this color is beautiful, especially for spring/summer. It's kind of a lighter, floral pink. It reminds me of flower petals (like, a waterlily...).
I debated heavily between a medium and large, but I once ordered a too-large bag from another company and the size completely overwhelmed my body. Medium is perfect - doesn't look too big but still holds everything. The wide base is what allows so much stuff to be in the bag, and it opens up nice and wide so you can see everything at once. Like other reviews said, the bag stands up on it's own which is wonderful because stuff gets lost in floppy bags.
If you want a quality, cute, perfect, useful tote - this is definitely it.

I bought the Large Tote to keep in my SUV to help organize things in the back but I have used this for a variety of things. I've used it as a dirty laundry bag, grocery bag, and on a recent week long trip, to carry things back and forth from the hotel room that I didn't want to leave in there. It also seems like it will be good to use for camping and beach trips as well.
The canvas is thick and sturdy and I can see myself using this for years. I will end up buying an extra-large and medium as well. The monogramming adds a nice touch as well.
