How often do you shop at L.L.Bean Signature?Occasionally
I bought this leather bag for my husband for Christmas 2011. It is the best quality Leather Bag I have ever seen. He absolutely loved it. He said it was the best gift He had ever received. We travel several times a year and that's the only carry on bag He wants to use. The leather is looking better with each use, character...The zipper, handles and the shoulder strap are built tough to last a lifetime! I highly recommend this product from L.L. Bean!!!

I wear my Signature clothing...:To Complement My Existing Wardrobe
Purchased and received the Cordovan Vacation bag. It took a long while to receive it; it was on back order and then the date kept getting pushed further and further. However, the customer service staff were helpful and cordial and made it as easy as possible.
On to the bag. The Cordovan color is amazing; online I only see the Deep Woods Green now, which is a shame. The construction-- from the leather to the lining to the brass feet-- is sturdy and substantial, the bag roomy and hearty. However, the bag loses a star for two reasons: first, a more substantial zipper could make this a perfect combination of style and utility. Along the same lines-- secondly and most importantly-- the brass clip hardware on the strap needs to be reevaluated. Too often, a heavily loaded bag put so much weight on the strap clips that the springloaded arm actually popped out due to the flex of the load-bearing brass hook portion of the clip, the part that the weight of bag rests on. A pair of needle-nose pliers were able to remedy the situation by bending the load-bearing hook portion further inward so that, even in flex, the spring loaded arm did not pop out of place. I could see this issue being a "game-ender" for someone older and/or someone who does not know how to remedy the issue. Overall, beautiful and well crafted... just needs a bit of tweaking.

Excellent quality, color, style. I looked for two years in shops and catalogues to find a piece of luggage that did not have "roller" wheels on it. It was a present for my husband and he often returns things I give him; but with this one he immediately said "This will work." It works well and looks good.

This bag was bought as a gift for a very good friend. I was confidant based on the reviews and of course L.L.Beans rep (I love you L.L.Bean!) but was so excited when the bag arrived - it is truly a great bag, great color, fantastic leather and a timeless look. It will get better and better with age, as will my friend. I'm kind of thinking of buying another one for myself... Thanks for all of the honest, great reviews!

This was a Christmas gift to our twenty-something Wall-Streeter. He loves it and has used it twice just since the 25th itself. According to him it is the perfect weekend size, tough enough for train/bus/plane, and looks sharp. His only wishes are these: that it was made in the USA (he'd pay more for this), and that it could be "branded/monogrammed" with initials.

For $375 you will probably have a hard time finding a better leather bag. If LL Bean would only create a "big mouth" model with a larger opening to put your clothes and stuff in, then the bag would be perfect.

Looked all over for a leather duffle for my picky Mainer boyfriend for Christmas (at a reasonable price) and this exceeded expectations! I cannot recommend this bag enough. The leather is soft, a gorgeous color (cordovan), and durable. I cannot wait to see his face when he opens it on Christmas!

by all means it is a nice bag: handsome, understated, thick leather.
problems:
-the lining is loose. it should be attached to the bag. makes it messy inside
-the interior zipped pocket is tiny. either make it bigger, or add a secondary pocket on the opposite side of the bag. for some UTILITY!!!

but the REAL PROBLEM: my bag #1 had bad strap hardware. the bag kept breaking free from the strap (a real embarassment and NUISANCE in the middle of a trip). i swapped it for a 2nd bag and it had the SAME PROBLEM. the hardware clip on the strap kept bending. really annoying.

The bag came just as I expected from other reviews, such good quality leather, supple but sturdy. I feel like I'm back in 1933, and I'll be able to pass this bag down to my grandkids anno 2011! In short, a timeless, vintage classic, and I plan to use it for a long time.

I bought this bag for a five day trip to the Dominican Republic and it was perfect! It fit much more than I thought it would at first glance. It is perfect for up to four days, I would think and longer if you're going somewhere tropical where you don't bring a lot. Having this bag allowed me to sail through the airport and not to have to check a bag. Also, whatever scuffs get on it rub out into a nice worn-in look. I highly recommend it.

I was given this bag in Cordovan as a birthday gift and I could not be more ecstatic! I have long wanted this bag after looking far and wide for a handsome, rugged yet refined leather weekend bag. I am away almost every weekend and wanted a bag other than my Adventure Duffel (another great bag!) for weekends in the city. This holds just enough clothes, accessories and my hanging Bean toiletry for a weekend away. The leather scuffs easily but greatly adds to its patina and individualizes the look. Yes it's pricey, but with Bean's guarantee it's a no-lose purchase! I highly recommend!

This is a classic design made of great leather with sturdy construction that will last many years. Excellent quality for price when compared to other weekend bags. I bought the woods green and feel that it is a great neutral color. Size is excellent for a long weekend.

. . . but all they had left was the mossy green. He protested, but I surprised him with it for Valentines Day anyway. He was thrilled. It's the perfect size for a couple of nights out of town, not too heavy, and made from a nice, substantial leather.

This bag is the perfect size for packing for a small trip. The leather quality is top notch, and the Cordovan color is gorgeous. Some people may not like this, but whenever the leather creases or gets scratched, the leather really reflects the change.

I purchased this bag with the intent on using it for an everyday bag, but it was simply too big. I ended up returning the bag as I do not need another travel bag. However, this is a great bag, super quality at a great price. My return had nothing to do with the quality of the item, I highly recommend it if you are looking for a large travel bag. I wish they would make an identical smaller bag in leather, would purchase it in a flash!
